When Andrew was born 2 1/2 years ago, many well-meaning family members questioned my ability to homeschool a five year old and take care of a newborn baby.

Like most scientific investigations, our studies of caterpillar behavior began with a simple question: How much can a single caterpillar eat?

By looking into the lives of great women and men, we hope to give our children models for their own lives: models who have shown compassion for their fellow human beings, models who have stood up for what they believe in, often against great opposition.
