		<description>I love the free-range kids idea, and am so glad that&#039;s stimulating discussion on this important topic.  I myself grew up in a climate of fear -- town was &quot;bad,&quot; climbing trees might result in broken limbs, etc. -- so it&#039;s been very reassuring for me to think a lot of this through and to realize that, yes, life is risky.  But not experiencing it is a whole lot riskier.
