1 keep it confidential. That's the impression I got, keep it
2 confidential. I don't know if she asked me to, but that's
3 the --
4 Q. Okay. In this same conversation you told Cheryl Lindsey to
5 cease her relationship with this other man; isn't that right?
6 A. That's right.
7 Q. At some point during this timeframe Cheryl withdrew from
8 Calvary Chapel; isn't that right?
9 A. That's right.
10 Q. And at some point you decided to break this confidentiality;
11 is that right?
12 A. Yes, at some point I did break the confidentiality.
13 Q. Let's switch gears for a minute.
14 A. Can I tell why?
15 Q. I want to ask you a different question.
16 I want to ask you about the same time -- and I am talking
17 about the first half in 1994 -- Claude Lindsey left for New
18 Orleans; isn't that right?
19 A. Yes, that's right.
20 Q. And upon his return to Washington he lived with you; is that
21 right?
22 A. For a time.
23 Q. You were aware that there was an anti-harassment order
24 entered by a court against Claude Lindsey; isn't that right?
25 A. That's right.
381
1 Q. And you in the past have characterized the amount of time
2 that Claude Lindsey spent with his children during the time he
3 lived with you as infrequent; isn't that right?
4 A. That's right.
5 Q. And Claude Lindsey eventually moved to Renton and he told
6 you to keep his address and phone number confidential when he
7 moved to Renton; isn't that right?
8 A. That's right.
9 Q. Even from his children?
10 A. That's right.
11 Q. And you honored that request, didn't you?
12 A. That's right, yes.
13 Q. And you were also aware that by June 20, 1994, that Claude
14 Lindsey had no interest in reconciling with his wife, Cheryl?
15 A. That's right.
16 Q. Sometime after Cheryl confided in you about her relationship
17 with this other man, you received a number of phone calls; isn't
18 that right?
19 A. That's right.
20 Q. And specifically, you received a phone call from a man named
21 Michael Boutot; is that right?
22 A. That's right.
23 Q. Before this initial phone call from Michael Boutot you
24 didn't know who Michael Boutot was, did you?
25 A. No.
382
1 Q. In fact, as you remember it, you had at least two
2 conversations with Michael Boutot; is that right?
3 A. That's right.
4 Q. You also received a phone call from a man by the name of
5 Gregg Harris; is that right?
6 A. That's right.
7 Q. And you had about two conversations with Gregg Harris; is
8 that right?
9 A. That's right.
10 Q. And before you received these phone calls from Gregg Harris,
11 you didn't know who Gregg Harris was?
12 A. No.
13 Q. And these phone calls from Gregg Harris and Michael Boutot
14 were about Cheryl Lindsey; isn't that right?
15 A. That's right.
16 Q. And you received a phone call from Sue Welch; correct?
17 A. Correct.
18 Q. And that phone call from Sue Welch was about Cheryl Lindsey;
19 correct?
20 A. As I can recall, Sue Welch called me -- the way I understand
21 it, Gregg and Sue had talked before they had talked to me, and I
22 think Sue's words were, "was I intending to use church
23 discipline?" And I told Sue yes.
24 And I don't know what else was said after that. I never
25 knew who Sue was before, never heard of her.
