correct?
A. Yes, ma'am.
Q. Tell me about any other conversations or conversation you
had with Sue Welch?
A. Sometime prior to this convention in 1994 I received a call
from Sue Welch informing me of a concern that she and others had
that Cheryl Lindsey was involved in an interracial marriage.
Q. What was the nature of Sue Welch's concern about Cheryl
Lindsey being involved in an interracial marriage?
A. To the best of my recollection, her major concern was that
Cheryl had purposefully hid this from the general public and
that the general public deserved to know that Cheryl was
involved in an interracial marriage.
Q. How did you respond to Sue Welch?
A. At that -- Sue and I had some discussions. I remember
becoming a bit disturbed of the phone call and the information,
as, as far as I was concerned, it was irrelevant. I had sensed
that I was being asked to participate in making this an issue.
I voiced my concerns with that matter, voiced my positions with
regards to my convictions on interracial marriage, and advised
Sue that I would be in support of Cheryl and Claude Lindsey.
Q. Okay. Did Sue suggest to you that perhaps you should --
well, strike that. When you had this conversation with Sue
Welch, had you already decided to invite Cheryl Lindsey to speak
at the 1994 CHEO convention?
